Here is some optimism and words of encouragement on bonfire night!
For too many years, ADHD has been misunderstood, under diagnosed and grossly under treated, but I have been feeling rather cautiously optimistic in recent weeks. 2024 seems to have been productive so far
NHS England announced the ADHD task force
An independent report on the NHS in England was published that found the NHS to be in critical condition
We elected a new government whose main pledge was to โget the NHS back on its feetโ
And as a direct consequence of the independent investigation, NHS England have recently launched a new 10-year plan that is set to roll out next year.
This has opened up a window of opportunity. We can use these key moments as reference points in our campaigns. This is a perfect time to get involved in your local council meetings, write to your MP, The CQC, NHS England, basically anyone with any influence over policy.
You could ask your MP about your local co-production group? This is a good opportunity to raise your concerns and hopefully have some influence on some of the decisions in your area, or you can simply create an account for the Change NHS Portal, fill out the feedback form and engage with the โyour ideas for changeโ section.
